My 96 Monaco came with this RM7030 with ice maker, and this fridge was built in 1995.

The freezer works great and gets very cold, and the ice maker makes a lot of ice. The fridge on the other hand, only gets down to 58-62 degrees no matter what, gas or electric.

I know the cooler unit was replaced about 7 years ago, and they installed what looks like computer fans on the cooler unit with a switch in the outside of the coach inside the fridge compartment. I had the fans running all of the time, 24/7 when I was using the fridge. They are a bit noisy.

Is there something wrong with this fridge or is this the best it can do?

Would a new Norcold 1210 or a new Dometic perform better?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the problem I had with my Dometic. I initially thought the temp sensor was bad, but it turned out to be the circuit board. Bought it online for $129, and it fixed my problem.
Have you checked the positioning of the sensor on the fins inside? It has to be making good contact. And it slides on the fins for finer adjustment. Also check to make sure the fuse on the circuit board isn't blown.

Is this in the back of the fridge or inside of it?

One fuse may have been bad, so I replaced it and now I'm testing it to see the temp in the fridge section.

Hope it works for you. Fridges in RVs are a PITA.

We have the same refer.

The temp reading right now is 36.1 on the 3rd position setting with outside air at 64 degrees on the Oregon Coast.

Several years ago, I replaced the PCB with one from dinosaur. I use a computer fan mounted on the sidewall, not on the fins.

Did the board replacement make the biggest difference on keeping the fridge cool?

My freezer is super cold, it's just the fridge that is a little warm.

I cannot remember, but I think the refer was just not cooling on either side well.

I replaced the board since the cost was approaching what a tech would charge, and I had successfully done the flame/thermister and stack testing/cleaning steps.

Much better result with the new board. But no guarantees for your situation.
