It all depends on the city and state you live in. For me, living in San Antonio, TX i found GEICO was and still is cheaper than the other insurance agencies. That is not including the "fly by night" companies that offer you insurance for $20 a month. As soon as you have an accident with them they don't cover that.

My policy is underwritten by National Interstate through Explorer Ins. agency. Nothing "fly by night" about them! Google them and see for yourself! Bill

Had the same thing happen a few years back. Check and make sure they have your SS #. Rates are also based on credit ratting.

GEICO here as well. Never had a claim with them, but so far, they have been very competitive with everyone else.

Just a comment, are any of you full timers, paying full time insurance?
There is a big difference in rates.

I am NOT, never thought about that, yes the rates for fulltimers are more.

Just received my renewal for my Good Sam/GMAC motor home/auto insurance. The rate for the next policy year went up $1200!!No accidents. No addreass change. Nothing changed!! When I called they just said that there was a rate increase, and that's the rate!

An increase of $1200 for a year- I don't think so!!
That's what I get for being a 'Valued Customer' as printed on the top of the billing page. I hate to see what the rate increase will be for those that are NOT valued customers!

Searching for a new company now.

Unfortunately insurance companies are a necessary evil who are interested in making money for their stockholders and really only care about you as long as your payments are made on time. Most new customers are suckered in by attractive low teaser rates which will usually rise after a couple of years even if you've not had any claims. When this happens, I return the "loyalty" by submitting quote requests to 4-5 companies before making a decision and changing. I have found that the best rates are from companies that specialize in rv insurance and not your personnel vehicle/homeowners type companies. Here are links to try for quotes if interested.
