I have a Fun Finder X-139, the smallest model. I have one battery I keep on a trickle cell charger all the time except when I'm camping
If the battery is hooked up to the trailer, and either:
RV hooked up to house or campsite current
Trailer electrical hooked to TV for towing, like for lights, turn signal, etc...
The RV interior lights work. But if the battery is connected without an external hookup, either house current or TV, then the interior lights do NOT work.
The battery is fine. It was checked at Batteries Plus. It is fully charged and holds a charge fine.
It is hooked up to the trailer fine. Positive to positive, etc...
This will be an issue if we ever go dry camping.
What kind of things should I look for to solve this problem?
Follow the battery leads as far as you can. You should find an inline fuse and or a fuse/relay box attached to the frame. Cant recall what that one is called. I suspect there might be a fault there. Seeing you have power when on 120 i suspect your converter is working fine.
Good start might be to check the power readings on the 2 battery lines when connected to 120. should tell you if you are getting power fromthe converter.

Yes I have the same suggestion.
Probably the + battery terminal once touched the frame while the RV was plugged in, and grounded out the converter output, tripping a 30 - 50 amp inline fuse, and separating the battery wire from the rest of the electrical system.
Once you find this fuse, then a 40 amp automatic re-set circuit breaker should be installed. This will heat up quickly and stop current flow if the wire shorts out, but will cool off in about 15 minutes and allow current flow again once it is cool, so no need to replace the fuses.
