the plastic ones that let water go through. I had a "astroturf" type mat. PITA to keep clean, heavy, and bulky. the woven plastic are lighter, smaller, easier to store, and easy to sweep to keep clean.

we had lightweight cheap indoor/outdoor carpet from Menards. It keeps the trailer much cleaner. The last site we were at was all grass, no pads at all, so we did not use them. But if it is some type of pavement or gravel/dirt, we pull them out. We have two of them, I think they are each 4' X 8'.

We usually go to home depot and they cut it to length for us. Just a plain green plastic grass mat.

I've tried all of them and hated every one of them!

They are heavy, big, stinky when wet when you have to put in in your rv bay, and the slippery woven mats where you can go right on your arse when its wet and that are a bear to fold and find room for in the RV.

I threw them all out and bought sunshade material from the big box stores. You buy it by the length. I have one that goes the entire length of my MH. Not slippery, dirt and water goes right thru.

AND....the BEST part is I can fold the entire mat up into a 12" FLAT square for storage.

Also if you need to hose it off before packing it up? Rinse it and Hang it on your side mirror and in nano seconds it's completely dry to pack up. No more mold smells hitting you in the face from a moldy wet mat packed in a bay.

We have the woven polypropylene (plastic) RV mat that is commonly found. Bought it off ebay several years ago. Works fine, dirt will sift through, easy to shake out, and can be washed with a garden hose.

Go to Harbor Freight. Get "Mesh Tarp" Fine mesh, folds compactly and does a great job. About 25-30 for 8 x 16 piece. Has gromets for anchoring. Buy Large gutter nails and fender washers at Home Depot to anchor.

I found a really nice one at Lowe's. It is made of rubber and is heavy duty. It is more like one you would see at a business. I keep it rolled up and stow it in the closest cabinet to the door. It has made a considerable difference in the amount of dirt and gravel that get in.

We bought one of the woven from CW last year and absolutley love it. It is light weight and stores easily in its canves carrying case. It won't kill the grass and is easy too keep clean.

Same for me. Bought a carrying bag for it seperately for a few dollars that it fits perfectly when folded up and it is no longer one of those very dirty tasks you have to do
