I have a northernlite with a basement and I would like to built a bumper to attache the steps.
I tought about using alluminium sheet foldes in a 6in square and fix it to the jacks post.
how can I fix it so the jacks operate without obstruction?
all your suggestions are welcome

Most of the bumpers I have seen attach to the camper framing. Could you use a hitch extension as step mounting location?

Both Northern lites and Bigfoots have factory setup's as I believe you are discribing, they use a 4" square tubing. This is the factory Bigfoot setup on my camper which is very similar to the Northern lite
