We stayed at Skidaway in April and we loved it. We camped in a 30 ft. travel trailer. We were only approx. 15 minutes from downtown Savannah. Very large sites (we determined that the size of our site was bigger than our first property size in NJ!) You park parallel to the road, rather than back in/pull through, so you have privacy because you are not looking at other rigs. While we stayed there the new bathroom opened and it is very nice. Beautiful spanish moss. We definitely will return to Skidaway. That all being said, when we had a discussion with a park ranger about bugs and summer temps. She pretty much said you don't want to be here! Lots of other complimentary reviews on this site and rvpark reviews. Enjoy it!
Great Camp ground. Convenient to downtown Savannah. There are, however, a limited number of sites at which you can receive a satellite signal. We had to relocate to another site when we could only see 1 satellite out of three. Shower facilities are really great and clean.
We spent 2 nights there at the beginning of this month - loved it, and wish we had more time to spend there. Water & electric only, with dump station available for on the way out. As noted above most sites are completely shaded. We appreciated being shielded from the hot Georgia sun; the television generally doesn't go along on our cross-country trips anyway. Very clean & modern shower/bath facilities. Pool is closed due to budget issues but the park is clean & well kept. Just keep your bug repellant handy!
Just came back from a 3 night stay on site 36. Very large site. Cable hookup if you want limited TV. Bath house very clean and great water pressure. Yes it was hot and buggy, but it is July. I would put this campground near the top of my would stay again list.
