I have had mine open for 5 years straight. The only time we slightly close them is to keep the unit cool in the summer and warmer in the colder seasons. I've never experienced any rain leakage....we leave them open all winter in Kansas and have never had any problem.

Great product and a solid addition in my opinion.

Had mine on and open for about 8 years and no rain leaks but what does someone living in Mesa know about rain? The only time I close them is when we get one of our now famous dust storms. As for the rain, we seldom get one that does much good, it's mostly a rain storm, lightning, blowing wind, etc... Anyway, they're a great product. Leave them open... IMO..

The maxx air 2 has an even larger opening and lets more air flow in/out and keeps out rain, I leave em open all the time.

The purpose of a Maxxair is so you can leave the vent open when it rains, and it works very well!

I was told at the store to remove the screens from my Maxair II's, because the vents have screens and they clog over time. The fan ran faster without them. My vents are always open when the a/c isn't on... No rain issues.

Vents are open all the time except when a/c is running no problem with rain unless it storms with blowing rain from back to front

....UH what's rain???? I've had mine open for the last 11 years and the only time I have closed them was when I run the AC and thats if I remember to closed them(most of time I forget to). It's just too hot right now to camp where I'm at and seeing I work out in it allday I'm not paying to sit in the AC in a campground when I can do that at home.....

We only had issues once during a hurricane. I forgot to close the one over the tub. The sideways rain did get in, but it was only a little. They are well worth the money.
