The above RV resort charges up to $199 per night. Are there RV resorts that charge more?

Read their Reservation policy. You really could not pay me to stay there. Would take a brave person to knock on my door, and tell me I have to move off the site I have rented, Because the real owner has showed up. Yeah Right. Hold your breath for that.

Actually if you read it it states that prices start from $79 and go up to $299. All depends what you want.

that is how some of the camp clubs work. The owner shows up and you have to move to a different site.

But in reading the reviews, that was what brought the normally excellent reviews down to a 5 out of 10. Having reservations and upon arrival finding there were no spots left. But during Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl, knowing New Orleans and how everything there operates, I'm willing to bet that a bidding war for sites continues even after the sites are full and if someone offers more, its out you go.

Your post is misleading.

The high dollar rates are for special events. The $199 rate you post is for next years Superbowl less than 1 mile away from the resort. Bet a flea bag motel would cost more than that.

Those rates are special events rates; Mardi Gras, etc. Those are in line with many special event rates. Bluewater Key RV Resort in the Keys is $150/nite waterfront in season. December thru April.

We know the original owner and stayed there a couple of times. Their rates are similar to hotels. The 1st. +-10 reservations for a space over a Saints football weekend or such event will be at book price. Next 10 will be at an increased rate and so on. Lots of special events happening in The Big Easy all year long. Naturally Mardi Gras weekend is the Biggie. But then there's always Bayou Segnette S.P. across the river.

We stayed at FQRV for 5 nights this spring for $79 buck a night. It was jumping to $199 the day we left for the start of the Jazz Festival.
Three words! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

One and a half blocks from the French Quarter. Great sites, great club house and pool facilities, Secure and easy access off of and onto the I10 and a short safe walk into the French Quarter.
We arrived the day after the NCAA final game. The guys besides me had been there all weekend watching the final four and had paid $299 per nigh during the final four nights. They walked to every game at the Superdome and had a great time.
In the 5 nights we were there we never drove offsite and had a great time.

One of the things I liked best was the evening campfire. You just called the office and tell them "we'd like a fire now" and a cheerful person shows up to build it. Fabulous!
