Hey guys, I posted here a few weeks ago about looking for our first jailer. After way too many hours on Craigslist and RV trader, we decided on a 2007 Tahoe Transport 304fs it has been very well taken care of and was very clean! We were able to get it for $15500, hopefully that was a good deal Does anybody out there have any experience with these models? It seems very solidly built... Triple and and gvwr of 14k. I think its around 9k empty so its definitely a heavy trailer. Any tricks of the trade you guys have would be much appreciated as this is our first hauler. I have a lot of experience towing so I'm not worried about the towing aspect so much. Thanks in advance!

Best "trick of the trade" you can do is, set up the camper in your driveway and spend a week-end in it to learn all the systems, to figure out what you need and want to supply it, and to just have a LOT of fun before hitting the road!

Congrats and enjoy!

Echo Dutchmen...
Spending the weekend working through the rig is the best way to familiarize yourself with your RV.

Have fun!!

My first TH was a Wanderer, made by THOR of CA as well. BIL still has his Wander as does BobWanderer on here. Pretty well made trailers that stand up well. Not familiar with that model so don't have much to suggest. If it has the Generac generator make sure you keep some seafoam or similar in the gas as they tend to gum up the shutoff solenoid in the bottom of the float bowl easily.

Former owner of a ThorCa product, every time they are mentioned, I throuw up in my mouth a little. You are well past any type of warrenty claim, so no problem there. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the help so far guys! We are excited to get it out on its maiden voyage. We are going to take our time getting it set up though. Especially that hitch, equalizer and sway set up. Tue previous owner had a pretty tall truck, so it will take some time getting the hitch to the right height. Thanks again, and keep the tips coming!

My recommendation to you is go to a scale totally empty. Get the real empty gvw.And the real tongue weight. I think you'll be surprised.
Then load it up with full water/fuel/gear/toys and go back to the scales.
I am very doubtful you will have 5000lbs cargo capacity the 14,000gvw minus the 9000lbs empty weight seems to suggest.

I'd be surprised if you have more than 3500lbs cargo load capacity.
Anyhow, its a good thing to know your real actually weights and load capacities, whatever you do.

For sure as soon as I can I will get to the scales. The guys I work with have dubbed me the weight police as I am concerned with staying within my limits. Tahoe is a lot closer on their posted weights than most... Keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't buy a bahemoth that will exceed my trusty 2500
