The strangest thing happened the other day in our RV Park. I was sitting in the coach reading and in of the corner of my eye I saw movement...looked up and a fellow was strolling across the lawn by the coach. Later on, here comes another one heading in the same direction. This went on a couple of times a day until I was able to step outside and chat with one of them and mentioned that walking through someone else's site is a MAJOR breach of etiquette.
I got a real funny look and the response of "never heard of such at thing, no one has every mentioned it before" like I was a belligerent in the matter and incorrect. I just chaulked that response up as a defensive posture but, at least it hasn't happened since. Later found out the chaps were commonly doing that trough others sites as a shortcut to the club house.

It's better to speak up in a polite way than to silently fume about their ignorance.

I've had it happen many times at different CGs but it really doesn't bother me.
It does bother me if they make a habit out of it though.

During the summer, we find many folks renting motor homes. These folks have never camped/RVd before so don't know it's not polite to go thru someone else's site. Many also have difficulty with the english language so reading the rules is hard for them....then again, it may simply be rude and boorish behavior. I don't have a problem speaking up if something bothers me....you did the right thing...Dennis

Obviously, new campers.
We had people walking past the front of our RV to walk to the dumpster or to the office. Even walking their dogs to stop and pee on our grass.
One day, I startle one guy when I opened the door to take our our trash. He apologized for trespassing and said with no vehile he thought no one was home. Then he offered to carry my bag to the dumpster. Heck Yah.

I agree completly. As long as you reprimand someone in a diplomatic way you may teach them something they were unaware of. Another thing I hate is when someone walks their dog on your site and they poop and then walk away without picking it up. Some people believe rules don't apply to them I guess, but I will speak up when they do it.

Sounds like you were very tactful to me. I think it's good you spoke up.

You can't fix stupid.
The site next to the one I usually tent camp on is a beauty. You can sit in your chair, put your feet up on the split rail fence and enjoy the view of the lake, as well as the breeze coming off the water.
But immediately right next door is a public restroom. People cut through that site all of the time rather than walk around the loop to get to the restroom from the roadway.
I guess you can't fix lazy either.

it may be a slight breach of etiquette depending on several things such as lot size and area their supposable breaching but I certainly dont feel its a "MAJOR" breach of etiquitte at all
also depends on if your just renting or actually own the lot
