Not sure where to post this so I opted for the Class A section.
I am having problems with my GMAC and wanted to know if anyone had a phone number for the president, CEO, or some other honcho at GMAC. I have been in contact with their customer service area (which is a joke) and need to escalate the problems I am having.
You are not going to get to the CEO of GM. Could try contacting the White House since the feds own 26% of GM. Your best bet is to keep working the customer service department asking for supervisors, get their direct extension and keep a record of the names. You efforts will be rewarded much quicker if you keep a cool head, and calmly attempt to get your call directed to the proper channel. Have your documentation of your problems at hand and be concise. GMAC covers a lot of territory, they finance autos, financed homes, administer extended warrantees, run an insurance company, own a bank or two and probably have other ventures as well.
Did you talk to the NYS Insurance Department like I told you to do on you other thread concerning the matter? They can help, but you have to jump through the hoops and fill out all the paperwork. And NYS has not authorized a rate hike for GMAC (CIM in NYS) in several years. It is all right on the states insurance department web site. http://www.dfs.ny.gov/consumer/dfs_consumers.htm
"Did you contact the the New York State Insurance Department about the increase? They can help:

Yes- I did speak with them. All they said was to send them a copy of my declarations page from last year and for this year's policy. I have spoken to GMAC and tried to escalate the matter. Again, GMAC said that they had a rate adjustment in NY but a 67% increase in policy cost, without any changes what-so-ever, seem extremly high to me. They are sending my policy over to their underwriters to review so I am waiting for GMAC to get back to me with the results of their investigation before I send anything to the State.
An insurance company tried to double my rate when I moved out of NJ to NC for absolutely no reason and no claims...they just said that's the way it is...I went shopping and ended up with Blue Sky RV and they were a pleasure to deal with and went apples to apples with my declaration sheet...Great outfit to deal with. GO SHOPPING for insurance.

Wanted to talk to the CEO to escalate the problem that I am having with customer service. They promised to look into the situation and get back to me. Well guess what, they never did. When I called and asked to speak with a supervisor, guess what- they are all on other calls. Just want to make management aware of how bad their customer service is!
I don't get it either. He has a HIGH increase in his rate (for whatever reason) and he wants to FORCE GMAC to cover him cheaper???? There are dozens of Insurance companies out there. If he is a good risk, any number will cover him. Besides, THIS type problem is NOT handled by the customer, it is handles by HIS Insurance Agent. THAT is what his agent is paid to do. Doug

Some people NEVER learn. If getting customer service is this difficult when trying to BUY insurance, what do you think will happen if you file a claim???? Doug
