I am looking at a 1998 Coachman Catalina 31 footer with a cracked passenger side wind sheild. Can someone give me an estimate of what it costs to have it replaced???
Thanks,

I've heard between 1250-2000 depending on the coach for class A & DP. Many class C's are cheaper because they have normal truck glass.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
probably nothing or next to nothing if you have glass replacement on the comprehensive portion of your insurance policy. we've had the windshield on the two RVs we've owned a total of 3-times all at no out-of-pocket cost.

I had both sides of the windshield on my 99 moterhome replaced last year. It cost me nothing; but I asked the installer what it would have cost without my insurance. $1200 or $600 a side.

We just had the pass side windshield replaced two weeks ago and it cost us $1,100.00. Stress crack. The installer gave us a break on the price because he had reset the pass side once (four years ago) and both sides once (three years ago) due to the way the front end was made at Travel Supreme. We had the front end beefed up with metal added to the frame three years ago. Travel Supreme had a major design flaw on these coaches. Hope this is the last time! Otherwise, we really LOVE our rv!!!

Wow, so I am looking at anywhere from $450 to $2000. LOL. I guess I will just have to call around and get some quotes. I just figured it was a pretty standard thing. Thanks for all the responses. This is not a unit I own but am interested in purchasing so I dont have any insurance on it. I will have insurance but wouldn't feel right claiming a broken window when I purchased it that way.

good for you for doing the right thing re: the insurance claim. why not have the owner fix the windshield prior to purchase or at least credit you $1000 (or whatever cost estimate you come up with)? you could always bargain for him to pick up 50% of the lowest cost estimate. shop the job around...call your insurance agent and find out which shop they would recommend to replace the windshield.
