Glad to hear you made the trip with no problems. Hope you waved as you went thru Yreka. No way for us to know as we were off camping at Diamond Lake over the weekend. My wife says she likes the layout. Glad it ran well for you. Welcome to the Darkside and with a Chevy too..

that is an E450/V10, right? good power, lots of hauling capacity (we were under max weight by 1100 pounds with 3 large people, a German shepherd, stuff for a weekend, and half tanks.

dont mess with the sparkplugs until 100,000 miles, or if they are a definite problem. search for sparkplug on the forum.

Spark plug changes on the models with known problems should only be handled by the dealer.

However, IMHO, the plugs start to taper off in quality around 75,000 miles, and for optimal performance, should be replaced at that point rather than to wait for the bitter end of 100,000 miles.

Thx snowdance..actually stopped in Yreka for a quick leg stretcher...waved on the way out..Thx again! The engine and tranny (fluids) had just been serviced which is nice..Very quiet inside motor wise and could hardly tell if at all when it shifted..Have had the 4l80E in my last 6.0 Gasser 2500hd and it was smooth as well..

Thanks for the wave.. :-}.. Its nice that the fluids have been changed. When you have time I would check the grease fittings as you know the front idlers are in the frame and the one on the drivers side is not easy to get to so often missed.. The factroy manual says grease ever 3000 miles.. Also you will find that a lot of the rain and water from AC drain off front onto the front wheels. That will wash the grease from the brake calipers out so they do not slide. So will loose some braking and wear one pad. Try to always use tire covers at least on the front in any weather when parking over night..

It is nice to have a quite engine and also to have an engine cover that does not get hot and cook you out. Also nice to have some room for my size 14 shoes.. If you can open a roof vent to the rear while running the cab heat or AC you will find it will keep the complete rig some what cool or warm.. Our AC even with 100 + degrees will keep the complete rig very cool with just the rear roof vent opened some..
