I had Bell in house when I first retired. I also had Starchoice so we could get TV in Mexico. Used to activate Starchoice when we left and activate Bell when we got home. One year we got home a week earlier than planned. Called Bell to ask to activate earlier than what I had originally requested. Was told it takes a week to change the reactivation order so I got tripod and Starchoice dish out from under motorhome and set up in back yard. Was fuming! I called Starchoice and asked about switching all the house receivers and got a very positive response so called Bell and asked how long would it take to cancel my service and was told they could do that the next day so told them to do that! Never looked back. Never could understand how Bell stays in business.
we had Star Choice when we were in Arizona and had trouble getting the signal so they arranged for a Dish service guy to come over and assist and gave me programming credits to cover the cost. We were not long changing from Bell to Shaw when we got home.
I couldn't believe how much better the picture quality was with Shaw. It was amazing. Looks like I made the right move and they bend over backwaards to help with NO contract.
Bell have been bugging me to come back. I told them again and again we want to use their service in the US and they don't want us to do that plus the new nimiq 6 satellite is up with no programming anyway, the conversation was useless. They still kept saying, how do we get you to come back? They said if I come back within 6 months there's no 2 year contract. HUH?
