Please don't start a new thread each time you want to test your signature. Stick to one thread and add a new post.
Your picture is 42 pixels high. You will get better results, if your picture is 100 pixels hight. Start with a picture that has the image you want taking up at least 100 pixels (height). Crop out what you don't want in the picture. The part you want should be at least 100 pixels hight. If necessary , reduce the height to 100 pixels.

File size has little to do with the size of the picture; rather it is more a function of the amount of compression used when you save the picture.
Start with a full-sized picture, crop the image you want, reduce the picture to a height of 100 pixels. Finally work on the file size by increasing the compression, when you save it.
