We have a 50A coach currently plugged into 30 A breaker in a State Park. Only 30a available. I have a recently installed Progressive EMS-LCHW50 smart surge protector.i mounted the surge protector on the side of the bed where I can see the digital status readout. It's hot where we are and I thought only one AC would run on 30A service. I noticed the one AC draws about 13-14 A so just for grins I turned the second AC on and sure enough both run using less than 30A! COOL! I've been experimenting with the microwave to. While running the microwave and one AC we draw about 34 A, seems that works fine to! I only ran the micro for 3 minutes, maybe the service breaker is slo- blo......don't know.
Anyway, just pleasantly surprised to find out 30A is plenty even in hot weather!

We have the EMS in our coach as well, and have never had any problems running both a/c units .

Yeah, I thought the AC drew more than 15A and some mysterious power management system would really only run one AC when 2 were on with only 30A service.
Learn something every day........

We are able to run both A/C units with their compressors both running on 30 amps. The load management system keeps both compressors from starting up at the same time. It waits until one comressor is already running before the other is allowed to start. Works just fine.

Wow that sounds great. A couple years ago I rewired our 1993 rig which was 30amp to run either on 30 or 50. We don't have the EMS so we can not run both a/c's when plugged into 30 amp service. So, I wired in a 50 amp shore power within our genset comparment which works great when we are in the hot south western USA during the summer. Many gensets are 50 amp or more so many times you can run both a/s's when the genset is running. I just installed a breaker box and a 50amp shore power cord. Our 30amp shore power cord is still in place and it also works fine !

Each of our 15k AC's draw about 13 amps when fully spooled up. Plenty on 30a unless they both start at the same time which is something the EMS won't allow it to do. Works fine for us whenever we are on 30a.

We have run both A/C's many times on 30 AMP service and do not have any
power management systems. Just don't try to run the coffee pot, toaster,
or micro-wave while both a/c's are on. What I don't understand is some
park's 30 amp service will only handle one a/c and if you want to make coffee
it has to be shut down. Have a plug-in volt meter in the kitchen area. While
in NW New Jersey park we had 120 in the early AM but as the day wore on it
would drop to as low as 108 with nothing on in the motorhome. A mystery for
sure.
