We're new to RVing, but are anxious to see the sights and try out this new lifestyle! We're trying to purchase an '87 Falcon, but the purchase has been delayed until late Fall.
We'd planned to drive the shore of Lake Superior on the Scenic Highway from Duluth to Grand Portage.
Can anyone tell me where I might rent a campervan from an individual in that area? Or, is there a Forum about renting from individuals?
The dealers only rent the larger RV's, which we don't need.
We're just 2 adults, so we don't need that much room.

Many states have regulations about individuals renting vehicles and most insurance companies prohibit this, so it is going to be very difficult to rent from anyone but a dealer.
I doubt you will find an individual who will risk renting an RV of any type. I'm pretty sure few insurance companies would cover a private party rental, and if they would, the rates would be really high.
Insurance costs, for businesses, is one of the main reasons RV rentals are so expensive.
