I have the external surge guard too, and I considered a locking hasp, until I thought about it. The hasp locks the unit to your power cord, but unfortunately, mine, like so many newer coaches, have the yellow power cords that plug in at each end, so if someone wants your surge protector, you're gonna lose your power cord too.

The "scare stories" I refer to are ALL the anecdotes and stories about dire consequences of not doing what the writer thinks is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD! Whether it be TPMS or toad brakes or running with the propane on or whatever. The FACT is that such occurrences are quite rare when you take into account the number of RVs in use at any one time. There are more than enough paranoid people in the world, I don't think we need to add to them.
Yes, IMO, the "ME" generation is alive and well, and it encompasses ALL age groups: As in, "This is how I do it, and I am right, and YOU are wrong, and if YOU don't do it MY way, YOU are STUPID and a danger to anyone within a hundred yards of you!" As opposed to those of us who say: "THIS is what I do or have done in the past. It worked for me. What YOU do is up to YOU, and I don't really care what that is. Good luck!"

Coach-man news flash - I'll never go away - got to stay around to help protect others from such insane advice. Your bully attitude means nothing to me and others I'm sure. Seems quite a few other folks think you are way off base as well. The guy beside me who fried $3,000 in electronics due to no protection I'm sure would have a few choice words for your uneducated comments. Such a macho attitude you have imposed upon yourself - you just don't let others have an opinion that disagrees with your opinion.
