My 2007 Buick sedan has great A/C. We were traveling on Friday (about 550 miles) and it was HOT...about 95-96 F.
We had to turn the A/C down.

I have found that when the AC has a cooling loop in the radiator they tend to do better at idle then the ones with condensers..

slarsen wrote: What with this never-ending heat, I am so pleased with my 2012 F250. It puts out really cold air, and lots of it. And then there is the cool air thru the seats, too, which is so nice for getting dry and staying dry.
I compare it to my wife's around-town Honda, and there is No comparison. So-so air flow coming from the vents, lots of vent noise anyway, and the air just isn't that cold for quite awhile while it catches up. It reminded me of my last Ford, other than one other truck in-between: a 1977 station wagon. That vehicle had outstanding A/C, too. Pardon me for jumping to conclusions, but I'm thinking Ford excels when it comes to cooling capacity on the inside.
Anyone agree?
My SO's Ford F150 AC is much cooler than my Ford Mustangs. I have no clue why since my car is smaller, they are both Ford...seems mine being smaller to cool would have the beefier AC but it doesn't. And they are both same year - 2007.
I am not sure what size the AC is in my Jayco 26 foot travel trailer but it does pretty good even in this bad heat.

The General Motors/Harrison AC system was the best I've ever had any dealings with. Our company cars were either Ford Crown Vics, later Taurus' or Chevy Impalas/Caprice. The Ford's ACs were junk compared to the Chevy's. The Co. preferred the Fords due to price but I always ordered the Chevy. Last car I had was a 94 Caprice Classic that I kept till I retired in 02. They tried to get me another car/Taurus and I wouldn't take it. My old 98 Blazer has never had a charge on the AC and still blows "Cold" air. Our previous toad, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited had an inferior AC. Now our new Honda Pilot will run you out with the cold.

My Caddy's is very good...original (1979) Frigidare compressor, R-134a conversion. It will make the car uncomfortable cold in 100-degree weather. Note: it's black! The A/C is Liz's Grand National (also R-134a converted) is also superb.
Weakest is probably her Geo Metro.

The wifes Hyundai will cool the car quickly but never really gets super cold. My Jeep liberty may take 30 minutes to cool the cabin, but it just keeps going to the point that it is uncomfortably cold.
The chevy truck is just so,so does the job but when the ambiant is above 90 barely.

My Hybrid Lexus will make cold air without the motor running. Quiet and COLD, the motor will start eventually and charge the battery, but it works great...best a/c I think I've ever had in a vehicle.

I noticed that the replies were about smaller trucks (150-super duty) and cars. Since we don't spend much time in cars anymore here is one about a Kodiak based Seneca with toad. During the last trip around the Colorado River on I-40 it was the normal 105+ going east up the hill. The fan was on the lowest of three speeds and my wife was turning the temperature knob up off of the coldest setting a couple of clicks as she was too cold. I guess there is lots of cooling capacity as the water temp needle only moves a couple of widths higher going up the steepest climbs with my foot on the floor and the trans gage never moves off of the lowest peg. Only the dog sleeps on the couch and it is never warm enough there to think about the generator and roof airs for the rear. I don't like the hot but it does not slow us down.
