I currently own a 29' long trailer, towing it with a Ford Excursion.

We are looking to up grade to a 34' or 35' trailer and want to know how many people have made this kind of jump in size?

Did they have any towing issues with the length, sway, etc?

We just don't want to make a big mistake and take the enjoyment out of camping and I still want my wife to be able to tow it also.

Any thoughts and experiences are appreciated.

I"ve never towed with an Excursion but went from a 25 foot to 34 foot trailer with my F 150 and noticed little difference in towing and easier backing.

Went from a 24 to a 35 ft and now looking for a bIgger one now.
I would suggest a good Weight Distribution with sway bars.
I have a equalizer and works great on windy days.
Some times it's trying to find a campsite to accommodate the size

I recently changed from a 31' TT to a 34'er. Other than feeling heavier there was no noticeable difference. Gas stations and campgrounds are no more difficult to navigate than before. I don't consider myself a pro at towing either. This is my third summer with a TT and prior that I never towed anything bigger than a cart behind my lawn mower.

Without getting into the weights, get yourself a HENSLEY and sway will be eliminated. They work the best on long TT's. Good luck

We started camping in 2004 with a 27' tt and then 1 year later a 32' tt. We pulled the 27' with a 99 Tahoe and the 32' with a 02 GMC 2500 gas.... mid way thru 2005 I sold the GMC and got a 2005 Chevy 3500 dually with the duramax and allison trans. Few months later a 40' 5er that we still have.

I noticed a big differance between the 27' and the 32', go for it!
