I went from a 28 ft to a 34 ft TT and loved it . No problems getting in and out of Service Stations. I see no reason to spend big money on a high dollar hitch as my EZ Lift works great.I am looking at a 35 ft TT next week

We went from a 28' to a 34' as well. I do notice lateral push from the trailer when a truck passes me but that is to be expected. It was just more noticeable, not dangerous by any stretch. I haven't yet taken a trip where I need to gas up with the trailer on the truck. I had trouble at some poorly designed gas stations with even the 28' Luckly, you have a diesel exc so you can use the nice semi lanes at truck stops. That muct be nice...

The only real downside I have encountered is that I no longer fit in one of our favorite state parks. Can't beat sleeping 6 without having to convert a sofa or dinette though.

Go for it. Not that big of a difference.

I find the longer trailers more stable

There will be more trouble getting fuel at anything less than a truck stop. We have enough trouble getting in and out of a gas station with our 27 footer. A 34 footer would be almost impossible...

It depends on the setup of the station. I have had no issues if I use the outside pumps. Granted, sometimes I do get in the way of others as I'm waiting on the pump to free up.

My biggest downside is that I can no longer trailer through drive-thru's like I did with my popup.

My truck won't go through a drive through, LOL.

We went from a 30' to a 36'...the weight also increased from about 6500 to about 10200. With the V10 we feel it more on the hills and the mpg dropped some but no problems getting where we want to go, at least so far.

We just went from 25ft. to 35 ft. NO problems at all towing. Have a Hensley and a P3 brake controller and all is well. As for backing, I actually got it in the spot easier than the 25ft.'er It was our miaden journey and we we're given a pull thru site site. I was determined to back it in (much to the wife's disapproval..lol and did, on the first go.

Friends did and found that the kind of places they liked to go to they no longer could. After several months they traded it in for something smaller than they had in the first place.
If you like to RV at RV parks it will work for you. If you want to camp it may not depending on the kind of campsite you like.

I tow a 35 foot, 9200lb TT with my X and after a few mods and many trips of tweaking the hitch and moving weight around I have it setup so there is no sway at all. semis can pass me now and it doesn`t even move. it`s all in the hitch setup. and with an Excursion also the rear suspension needs to be beefed up. I added a rear sway bar which helped tremendously and air bags to help with the soccer mom rear springs!

We tow a 36 footer, and it tows okay. I have a 2500 Ram Mega Cab (long wheel base) and the trailer behaves reasonably well. The only problem with long units is that you will get some wiggle in the back (fishtailing some call it) and there isn't much you can do to stop it. It's not dangerous or problematic, but you'll feel it. Our previous trailer was a 29 footer, and we didn't experience this problem. Backing a longer trailer, I find, is easier than a shorter one. You have to turn more to get more turn in the trailer, which is nice. One a short unit, a small turn effects a rather noticeable turn in the trailer.
