Have you noticed the number of Travel Trailers on the road? We just returned from a trip and saw more Travel Trailers than any other RV. Fivers came in second, with Motorhomes coming on third. Last fall we saw more Fivers on the road. Has the change in TV made the difference?

Bigger families need SUVs, cannot tow a fiver. Could be the cost factor as well. Many friends with pickups do not want to lose the use of the truck bed while towing. Great for bikes, firewood, and other items. No large hitch inside when not towing...

The last several years we have seen more pop-ups than we have ever seen before
but like you we have seen more TTs than anything else.

While you are keeping track write down the name/make of each RV that goes by. I doubt you will see more than a handful of the same name/make in a days travel. Either that or just a few manufacturers are making RV's with different names on them.
We seem to see more Jayco Eagles than anything else.

Spring of 2011 seemed like the only RV on the road was the Pop-Up with a few Travel Trailers and a few Fivers and a few Motorhomes. July of 2012 with most of the RV’s being Travel Trailers; most of the Fivers on the road were old small fivers. The newer Fivers were split between manufactures with Jayco being at the top of the list. Ford Super Duty seemed to be pulling the newer Fivers. We saw one Fiver being pulled by a 20 year old Ford, the windows were flapping in the breeze, doors taped shut and the roof looked taped and patched. By the way he was going in excess of 70mph

You will always see me in a TT because it makes sense to me. I think nationally still more TT;s being sold than 5vers but 5vers are very popular now. The makers and dealers love it too because more money changes hands. I do watch campers go by on the highway as I travel

All of the reasons above. But also, look at the average home. Room to store a TT but not a 5ver?
