My WW has a little gizmo that looks like a phone connector that plugs into the main electrical box. When I bought it the dealer told me that is was for quick charge vs normal trickle charge.

I forgot when to plug it in.

What is the trickle config (plugged in prout)? Can I leave the unit plugged in to 30 amp outlet all the time without damaging the battery so long as it's in trickle mode?

Plugged in is supposed to raise the charge voltage.

If I had your unit I would add an "IQ4 smart charge controller", they work great and you never have to mess with it again.

BB is correct, it is a good mod to do, turns your Iota converter into a smart charger. I leave mine plugged in at home all the time and it is only a 20 amp circuit.

no, that's where the IQ4 add on controller plugs in, plug looks like a phone plug, controller is about the size of a business card.

to ans the orig question, with the jumper plugged in it's fast charging. Without it's a lower rate.

Here in the desert we cannot leave them plugged in all the time. The conv will overheat when temps get to 115*+. I only plug it in 2 days before leaving.

The controller eliminates the need to plug in, and unplug the the little jumper. Also automatically senses the mode it needs to be in. Basically it eliminates the guesswork, and human error. For instance you forget to unplug the jumper, and overcharge your batteries for an extended period of time.
That's the way I understand it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?
