As mentioned warranty problems are probably the most likely scenario you will face.
FWIW - Both of our 6.7L trucks needed a water pump at 60,000 miles. One of them also won't hold coolant pressure anymore, consumes coolant, but doesn't have any leaks so most likely the EGR cooler is cracked (we hope.... some of the commercial 6.7L guys are reporting head gasket issues). One also has a sticking turbo that will require cleaning (dealer wanted $1300 since it does not have the cleaning port. It cost ~$550 for the tooling to add the port, and for a case of cleaning solution).

I'm running a 2010 with the 6.7 and deleted the DPF. I installed a turbo back 4" Flo-Pro exhaust with muffler and an XRT Pro tuner. I'm running the 60 hp tune and getting good fuel mileage. No need to remove the EGR since the tuner shuts it off. I have had no issues, truck does not smoke, has awesome power and it sounds really nice.
No emissions testing in my state so I have no issues.

When I bought my 2011 HO Dually I had full intentions to do the deletes after owning it for one year if I had no problems. Well it has been almost one year and I won't do the deletes until my warranty is up.
The truck performs flawlesly and is a pullin machine in the stock form.
I have a combined weight of 27,000# and I pull the Grapevine north of LA a several mile 6 percent grade at 55 mph at the slowest in third gear with 3:42 gears and I average 9.5 mpg west coast towing.
So go to your favorite dealer and sit in a 2012 Longhorn Dually Max Tow, smell the leather adjust the seat and take it for a spin, when you get back you will be playing let's make a deal!
I did and have a smile on my face every time I just drive it or tow with it!

We've had an 06, 08 & now a 12....never a problem with the emissions ...these trucks pull just fine ...don't really see a need to mod them out but thats up to each individual owner...GL

Last 6.7 I had was an 08. After about 19 CELs, Dodge decided to replace the 08 turbo with a 2010 model (cleanout port). Then the tranny started acting up and Chrysler said no to the warranty. Traded for a 2011 6.0 Chevy. Gave 8mpg towing and 12 empty on a good day. Dodge gave maybe 13ish empty and 10 towing, wasn't so great, but at least more. Gave 6.0 up to a 2011 6.6 CC Duramax. 11ish towing and at times 17 empty. It's had it's share of problems with the low Quality Exhaust and SES lites, but may have gotten them resolved with the latest DEF tank drain and replaced with GM fluid and three NOX sensors replaced. At least lets hope so. Benn better off $$$ wise to just have had the Dodge repaired, but Chrysler did me dirty. Service was kept up to snuff etc and never modified in anyway. That sucked.
I have a totally stock 2010 Ram. Coming up on 50,000 miles. Driven daily everywhere I go. Never been in the shop for anything but a few little recalls. No squeeks no rattles nothing. I had a Dodge years ago. Can't imagine this is the same brand.

my state doesn't at present...anytime the government at any level could change that..which is the nexus for concern..
what is involved with removing the emissions controls that are causing problems? Is it software? Is it hardware? Or, a combination of both? thanks.
I haven't had any problems with emission controls on my 2012 F350. Once in awhile you get a cleaning message and you have to add DEF every 3000 miles. No big deal.

I assume the trans was under warranty, so why didn't they take care of your problem? Not calling you a liar but under warranty and there is a problen it should be fixed? I have heard of people giving up on getting things fixed but I don't hear about people being turned down for no reason.
