CUTE.

Read about a lady in stick house whose new fridge seemingly dumped ice cubes on floor from time to time thru front ice cube access. She was not pleased. Repairman came, couldn't find a thing. Happened again, lady real mad now, repairman returns. While sitting wondering what to try next, ladies German Shepherd came into kitchen, hit cube dispensor, picked one up of the many that came out, and left. Problem solved, he disconnected that feature. Bet the dog was PO'd.

But is that good for the dog??? We let our Basset have some refrigerated water, well I guess it was on ice. So it was pretty cold. It made him really sick, and we have been told not to put ice in his water outside, for the same reason.

Our dog throws up if she drinks cold water or eats an ice cube.
Cool water and no ice for her.

Almost all of my dogs have loved ice and ice water when it's hot. None of them ever had an issue with it.

Our dog runs to the fridge when we dispense crushed ice! We add crushed ice to his outside water bowl and he dives his nose and mouth in to grab chunks of ice and munches on them like it's a treat.

Andy only gets 1 or 2 cubes a day and his regular drinking water is run through a Brita filter and kept in the fridge, so it's always cold. I guess it's what your dog is used to but we have never had a problem with his drinking cold water or eating the cubes. In this extended heat spell we've been experiencing, it's another way to keep him cool and hydrated, though he is an air conditioned house all the time. And he really enjoys them. Thanks, Pops, for posting the photo.
