I think those of us who got the LTX's will be fine.
I put almost 40 miles of interstate driving on my trip home from the dealer and had absolutely no indication of any change in handling. Yes, I expect more tread wear, but unless you put a lot of miles on your trailer the tires will almost certainly age out before they wear out. If that turns out not to be the case, then I'll take it up with Michelin at that time.

You are fine with the LTX and I was even reserved with the idea that I may get stuck with them. They are amazing truck tires and should give you a solid service life. My primary concern with them is that they grab and throw a lot of stones and with all the tight turning and backing I perform they would be a bit squirmy with the siped shoulder block.
As I explained to the bfg rep... 1.5 years ago when I purchased the TAs my short list for tires went in this order: Ribs, Duravis, TAs, and LTX. Any 4 were suitable but having now logged a few thousand with the TAs and noticed that even they displayed shoulder feathering from turning I pretty much crossed the LTX off my list.
In the end you will be okay with the LTX but for anyone else if given the opportunity take the Ribs.

I don't think there would or should be a fight, the tire dealers are authorized to put on michelin ribs as replacements. I told this to a friend yesterday, and warned him they probably would be pushing the LTX's according to this thread , and sure enough they did, but he straightened them out on the recall. He will be getting the Michelin Ribs. It is Discount tires that he is dealing with.

My dealer (Tire Kingdom) put on NEW Commercial TA's; made after the end of the recall batch. That was the FIRST recommendation from Michelin on July 29.
I now have one "born on" week 5; two from week 7 and one from week 8. Installed them on the 3rd and put 1,200 miles on them last week.

If new BFG Commercial T/A's are now in the distribution chain, other replacement options (Ribs, competitor tires) will almost certainly dry up very quickly. If you got replacement Ribs consider yourself very fortunate. Sometimes you get lucky and end up being in the right place at the right time.

Y'all had me looking. Truck has 215s on it, new this year. Trailer happens to have a 235 on it. Had a blowout, losing 2 235s in May , rear axel of trailer.
I found U bolts loose on trailer axels & blamed blowout on that plus it was a very hot day & at speed.
One tire blew. The other was about to. The 235s were new in 2010 so I could have had recall elegible tires.
Too late now to make a claim.

Maybe not. Check out the information needed to file a request for reimbursement at the bottom of this letter:
