I GOTTA VENT!!!

Yet again on the cover of yet another magazine (Truck Trend August/Sept) is the Dodge 5500 Long Hauler concept truck. I've seen this truck profiled now in 5 different magazines.

OK DODGE!!!!! ENOUGH OF THE MARKET TESTING AND THE TEASING!!! EVERYBODY WHO'S SEEN IT WANT'S ONE. I WANT ONE!!! NOW.....EITHER BUILD THE DARN THING OR SEND IT TO THE SMELTER.

That's all I have to say about that.

Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!

I agree build it already. I will order one as soon as my current truck needs replacing.

I think it was all for hype and we'll never see the finished product.

Its gonna' be tough making production as it gonna' have to appeal to commercial haulers more so than just pulling a RV a or hauler for show horses.

Its simply too heavy and eats up payload potentual for serious folks trying to making a living with it.

The truck trend test of this truck showed 11.20 mpg but at the end it showed when it would be available and the answer was never. It would be a great heavy hauler. engine was 305 hp 610 torque with low rear gears.

You can get basically the same truck already available by ordering a crew cab 84" cab to axle length cab/chassis 4500/5500 and build your own 11' hauler bed for it with integrated fuel tank, sleeper, storage cabinets, whatever you want. Much more useful truck than the Long Hauler pickup.

Boyd the street rod builder? He probly built it himself.

The Long Hauler is a 200" wheelbase crew cab 84" cab/chassis truck with the crew cab replaced by a mega cab and a stretched/modified 8' factory pickup bed added instead of a work body. That's certainly well within Boyd's capabilities to make.
