We like having our beds permanently left in the U-twin configuration and in hot weather, we prefer using sheets on our bed to sleeping bags.
One twin fitted sheet does a great job of covering the two sections of the sofa. To cover the two square foot cushions, I just finished my summer sewing project - making two little fitted sheets. The picture below shows the bottom view of one of the foot cushions. Not terribly hard to do, but it took me all day!
I was worried that that sharp corners of the two strips of wood that hold the foot cushion in position might poke holes in the sheet, so I filed down the corners of the strips before putting the sheet on the cushion. Now it's time to test them out!

You did a great job! We have twins in the 5er - but they're narrower than the normal twin bed. I would NEVER post a pic of how I resized them. I've been sewing since I was 6 ---- and am embarrassed how those came together!!! LOL
