Just blew my 6th Goodyear 235/85/16g tire. Air pressure checked before each trip. Good tread left. Any thoughts on another brand? Maybe go to F rated tire? What about 17.5 wheel & tires. 2008 DA hitchhiker 339rsb. 14000 lbs. Dave

These were LT tires? (Assume from the "85"). Which Goodyear tire? Wrangler E rated or G614 G rated?

While you are waiting for more replies . . .
use the search feature with just about any keyword pertaining to:
tire brands, tire choices, tire failures, Goodyear, etc.

If there isn't enough reading there - use the archives with the same keywords.

And - yes, the 17.5 would be an excellent upgrade.

I run the XPS Ribs from Michelin and have had no problems with them at all. I have had them for about 3 yrs and maybe 60000 miles. They are a bit pricey but worth it every time I think about going on vacation with no problems. I have 13000lbs Larado 5th wheel.

If Michelin XPS Ribs fit the rims go for them. Price? Cheapest insurance you can buy for peace of mind.

The Rib is not a good replacement for a GY G614 LRG TIRE. Not enough capacity! It's more G614's which GY should provide under warranty or talk to NuWa about 17.5 rims and tires. I believe they will cut you a deal from what I have read. Or talk to GY about G114 LRH 17.5'S as replacements for the G614's.

Seems like a lot of failures on one trailer. Random positions or all one place? Have you weighed each wheel position to see what they are carrying for loads? Your tire pressure are kept at what pressure? Side walls are failing or tread peeling off?

I just finished removing my GY G614 G tires and wheels from my 07.5 36' Mobile Suites they are 5 years old and never a flat or blow out. I bought new GY G114 H 215/75R17.5 4,085 # rating and Alcoa polished wheels from trailertiresandwhees.com and installed them today. Also a new spare tire and wheel.

Wow they are solid. Can't wait to tow with them. Solid tires and beautiful wheels!

This is a great mod, glad I spent the big bucks for the quality US Made tires and wheels.
