We had the day/night shades on our last MH but the MCD duals came on the current MH. The MCD are MUCH better. Our windshield shades are electric but all others are manual. The day shade blocks the view from outside during the day and even at night you can't see inside unless there is lots of inside lights on and then it is not a clear view at all.
You will like them IMHO.

Dual is the way to go. Use the screen shade during the day as you can see out but hard for others to see in. At night we pull down the solid shade (don't have to roll up screen shade) so people cannot look in when you have the lights on.

Dual. Upgraded from the curtain. Drive, passenger and 2 overlapping on windshield. Love em. When in 105 weather, we still put the outside windowshades on to prevent heat from getting in.

Duals all the way around, Love them, they were the best upgrade we've done.
Would definitely recommend the duals.
Here's where we are

We had the dual shades installed at the MCD factory in McKinney, TX. Only the windshield and one very long window (that goes below a desktop) are electric. All the rest are manual and easy to operate. We even have duals on the entry door . . . the night shade is on a single roller assembly and the day shade is a roll up assembly installed on the screen door. We also have MCD mirror covers, windshield wiper sleeves, and tire covers.
We were very pleased with our experience at the MCD factory. They have ten RV sites with 50AMP, and we were able to stay in the MH throughout the process. And they are very pet friendly. Everything took five working days. On Monday, the techs measured all the windows, and we met with the customer service rep to choose the night shade material. The next three days, the shades were fabricated. The shade installation was completed on Friday.
"What's Next" is correct. The roller asssemblies are either single or dual. You cannot change to dual shades without changing all the roller assemblies.
You probably will need to have new valances made to cover the roller assemblies in the cockpit area . . . windshield, driver window, etc. When our shades were installed, MCD could not make/install new valances, but you should check if that service is available now. We had new valances installed when we replaced the front TV.
Do we like our MCD shades? No, we love 'em! One of the best improvements we made to our MH.

Another question -- We all have had window shades that quickly don't work as they are supposed to -- they won't go back up with a small tug, etc. How has MCD dealt with this and how well do they perform over time? I am very interested, but would I be trading a breaking string problem for shade operation problems?

Boonedocks, I don't think there would be any problem, we've had ours a year and a half and they work as they did the first day.. They are adjustable for speed(go fast or slow up and down) and stopping(can be set to stop up high or half way or anywhere in between).. The company is great to work with.. Mike M..
Go to there web site or better yet see them at a rally..

Love ours! We fulltime, and had our duals installed at the factory in McKinney last April. One great benefit--they turn our bedroom into a cave! Really love that!

As "mscamping" mentioned, the shade tensions can be adjusted if needed. The MCD techs showed us how to do that . . . although we might not remember how because of "senior moments." But we can just call them and get the instructions again.
