Where have you stayed while attending the Hershey PA RV Show? We are planning on going this year for the first time. There is a campground right in Hershey about 1-1/2 miles from the show with shuttles to the park. What are your thoughts on this park? Has anyone stayed in the overnight parking lot at the show? Where would you recommend?...How is the show?

Hi - 2 years ago we paid the $25 and stayed right in the parking lot (they have a designated area inside a fence for overnighters...). Literally a parking lot. But that was all we needed. 1 downside is apparently the city sewer treatment plant is right next door... depending on which way the breeze was blowing it was a bit "ripe" at times. I thought the $25 was high for a parking lot, but as compared to a RV park for the night, or an extended drive to Flying J in fuel charges, I could have done worse. Obviously you pay for the convenience. And, I'd probably do it again if we went back. Hope that helps! ST

It's a good show; a large selection of dealers and brands. If you're shopping for a new unit this allows you to compare rigs side-by-side. Inside the arena will be the vendors for accessories & aftermarket parts. Food on the premises is overpriced for what you get. I won't get to the show this year, unfortunately.

We stay at High Meadow when doing the show. High price but with hookups, wifi and the free shuttle, much better then the parking lot. Some people complain of train noise at High Meadow. I've never heard a horn, just the rumble as it goes by. JMHO

Yup...you were right...High Meadows is booked. I probably won't be getting there until Thurdsay night, so I'm sure the onsite dry camping will be full as well. Any opinions on alternate campgrounds close by?

They have a big lot, call ahead about onsite. One good thing you would have your own healthy food. Not much at show and overpriced.

We go to the show every year, as we live right next to Hershey. I doubt the on-site spots are full since they have quite a bit of room. If you don't mind a bit of a drive. Twin Grove Park Campground in Pine Grove is nice it's about 30 minutes away. There's also Thousand Trails Hershey which is about 15 minutes away, also very nice. Pinch Pond Family Campground is another possibility 20-25 minutes away not as nice as the other 2 but not to bad.
The show is awesome be prepared to do a lot of walking.

The one in Pine Grove looks real nice and it's on the way as we will be coming from MA. How does the one in Harrisburg...Harrisburg east Campground compare? it seems closer to the show. Does the onsite parking have any place to get water? I understand they have a honeywagon that comes around.
