I tried to search, no luck...
We're looking at a 34' bunkhouse in stock locally, but they only have the 13.5k AC. I'm worried about getting every bit we can for that large trailer. Does a trailer that size need the 15, or does the 13.5 handle it?

I have a 23' HTT and a 13.5K AC. So my trailer has "tent" ends like a pop up and when these are out, it is close to 30'. My AC works great for that setup. Actually, it is too cold most of the time. I understand you are looking at a larger unit, but being that mine has tent ends, it is much less insulated. Hope this helps a little.
If you are really concerned, tell the dealer to upgrade it to a larger unit. Explain to him this is a "make or break" part of the deal. Try to negotiate that into the package. If he can't do it, then you may have to order the trailer to your specs.
Good Luck in your purchase!

If you stay in Mass. you may be fine, but if you come down here, Texas, not gonna happen. We need 2 at times but some can get by on a 15k but don't see being able to stay cool with just a 13.5k.

I would have the tendency to want a 15K a/c in something that big. a 34 ft is a big TT and you may be sorry if you go with the 13k. I was looking at a 35 ft keystone that comes with a 15K and a 50 amp service. I was thinking of adding another 13k to the front bedroom. the heat here in eastern Oregon can and will get over 100 in the summer.

i would say "It Depends"
on the insulation, the floor plan, conditions were you camp
is there a slide out?
do you camp in the shade? or out in the sun ?
in tne shade with no slide , that 13k is more than enough
in the sun with a slide out, might want two A/C units
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

I agree it depends but given a choice, I would opt for the 15k as my rig struggles to stay cool when it's very hot and yours is much bigger.

I'd get a 15k BTU at least with a 34 foot bunkhouse. I'm going to assume it has multiple slides, so that gives even more cubic feet to cool down.
Here in central Texas, even a 15k won't do the job on a rig longer than 30 feet. One really needs two and a 50 amp connection on a 34 footer if one is staying here over the summer.
Also, is the A/C ducted? If it isn't, the rig can be cold in one part while other parts are way too hot.

Had a 13.5k on my "old" 30 foot 5er. Had to stay ahead of the game with that otherwise it would run most of the day and not very cool at that.

For the few dollars more the 15k costs, it is ALWAYS better to have MORE cooling capacity than just enough. Here in Texas that 15k would NOT cool your RV. Doug

I have a 38 foot 3-slides class A, Not far from what you are looking at
It is a 50 amp rig and came with a pair of 13.5's
One just took a dump on me (Dumped all it's freon) and the hole is in a bad place so we opted for a new 1500 upper unit, Neat thing, draws the same electrical power.. Much cooler here now.
