Requesting information about our Dometic Refrigerator, Model 1402. The refer is equipped to cool with either power or propane gas. Motor Home is a 2009 Fleetwood Discovery 40X.
The refer will not cool when connected to house power. The lights come on, can hear fans and interior mechanical noises, but no cooling.
Tech at CW hooked it up to a 50 amp source, it cooled right down in a matter of hours. We took it out for a ride yesterday, temperature dropped about 15 degrees after 2 hours of cruising.
With all appliances off, except the refer, the coach EMS indicates 4 amps being used.
I don't think this is the way refrigerator should operate. The tech at CW stated an intermittent cooling problem may be result of a malfuntioning "Refrigerator Board."
1. You CANNOT tell if the refer is functioning to SPEC unless you give it 24 hours. Did that "tech" do that? If not, he is NOT experianced
2. 4 amps IS the 120 current draw for your refer (3.8 actually)
3. Until it is tested for a minumum of 24 hours, there is no way to determine if you have a problem. Doug
