Has anyone experienced leakage from their Fumoto Valve? My CAT 3126 has never shown any leakage, but in the last two months I've had to add oil twice. The left side of my white Jeep is spotted with the black oil after a while and when I got underneath to change the oil, I found oil on the left side of the engine, but I can't really determine where. There are NO oil spots on my cement driveway, so it only happens when underway. Plus, where ever the oil actually comes from, it gets blown all around the left side of the engine. Before I put fresh oil in, I'm going back to the original oil plug, but I wonder about the Fumoto valve.

Oil in the oil pan is not under pressure. If the Fumoto valve was leaking, it would do it all the time, not just when you're underway.

I'd follow the oil stain UP alongside the engine because it sounds like it's being forced out under pressure.

That sounds more like the "Slobber" Tube than the drain valve!

Ah, it is a diesel. I thought it was gas for some reason. Yes, slobber tube.

Negative on the slobber tube. It is on the right side of the engine and is routed back behind the radiator. Thanks for the interest and speed of the reply.

Wait 'till Brett sees your post, or PM him, he's the boards Cat expert.

What I'd do is take it to a car wash and spray wash off the engine, drive home, and immediately try to find the oil track source while it's fresh and before it's spread out all over the engine.

I just finished giving it a does of degreaser and hosed it off. When I start it up again, I'll be under there looking for something.

You should be able to see if it is coming from the Fumoto valve, and the oil drain should not be high on the pan.

I have a vented bottle on my slobber tube to catch the oil.

If you add too much oil, you'll have plenty of slobber coming out of that tube.

Sometimes the dip sticks aren't very well calibrated from the factory. You'll think that the level is fine, but it could be a quart or more over the true full mark.

My Fumoto valve is dry as a bone. They have always been very reliable for me.

On Edit: I just saw that you have already checked the tube, so could it be an oil line to your turbo?

If it turns out to be the slobber tube Cat makes a filter for it and bracket etc. A little pricey with Cat install around 800 bucks, I think. The replacement filter is about 90.00 and replace it every fourth or fifth oil change.
It doesn't get rid of the stink but does get rid of oil or blow by spray.
