I am trying to order the resonator and the muffler (SuperTrapp)from Jacks Small Engines (link was provided here on RV.NET).
I thought I was going to call up there, tell them I have a Roadtrek with an Onan 2.8 generator, purchase the resonator and a SuperTrapp 3S, and call it "done". Not exactly.....
The salesperson I am dealing with is asking me some questions that is guiding me differently that what I have seen from others purchasing this product.
1. What is the Horsepower of the generator? I answered "I don't know"
2. What is the diameter of the pipe? I answered "1.1/4 O.D."
3. Is it clamp on? I answered "Yes, it is clamp on"
4. How many discs do I want? I answered "I don't know"
She referred me to likely buying the Supertrapp 5S. But I have only seen others installing the 3S.
HELP PLEASE if anyone can.

I have what you want, tried it, but have not bothered with it since. I bought my SuperTrapp also from Jacks. Here is the info on the box:
JACK'S SMALL ENGINE
670 3S125)H
MUFFLER
Bin 3F1 11/10/06
PO# V3401031
$ LIST 35.30
jackssmallengines.com

I DID NOT get the resonator thru them, they had something else, I went to an RV Store and they got it for me.

Hope this helps, let me know.

I got the 3S, and used 3 discs.

The cool thing about the resonator is that it is supported by Onan, and from what I've heard, does a great job at noise dampening. However, the biggest thing I see that makes the inbuilt Onans loud is the installation, and what acoustic insulation is used.

We have installed the Onan resonator and it does make the 2800 quieter. But, not quiet. In another thread Handbasket has outlined some ways to make it a bit quieter yet. However, the 2800 will never be as quiet at a Honda (or similar) EU series.

But, then the 2800 is safely tucked away out of reach of "fast fingers", can be started from inside when the weather ain't 'specially nice, and will run for as much as three days (were one to want to do so) on a full Chevrolet gas tank.

We have a pair of Honda 2000s as well, and they are much quieter, easier to "work on", and we can put 'em where we need 'em. But, you need to keep an eye on 'em, or they could well disappear.

I'll put up with a bit more noise from the 2800 to get the security, ease of use, etc. from the 2800.

We have not use a SuperTrap.

Cheers.
