One of the best things we did when trying to decide between 5er or TT was to go to RV shows. You get to look at all the different floor plans and features of lots of different manufaturers. We noted our likes and dislikes as well as must haves and would like to have. I would not let the amount of time it takes to hitch and unhitch persuade the decission as it is just a very small fraction of the time you spend on your trips. I can not speak for pulling a TT as this is our first camper, but hitching, un hitching, towing or parking our 5er has not been difficult at all to adapt to.
Good Luck and have fun.

We've owned two TTs and currently fulltime in a FW. We prefer the FW over the TT basically because DH is tall and he continually hit his head on the TT slide and doorframes. (He's only 6') For fulltiming, teh FW feels like a small apartment, but the TT worked great when we were simply vacationing in it.
