I Loved my 1997 Gulfstream Yellowstone Country Club Class C 29' no slide. TONS of storage. Bought it used. had it for 10 years and just sold it for 10K when I got my Class B.

Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

We spent a lot of time looking at various used Class C's in the Under $25K range and decided on the fairly 'minimum' upkeep of the Four Winds Majestic since it had enough room for two adults AND could easily have the bed in back removed to haul dog crates (I show dogs).

It had no carpet inside which was a big requirement for us since we do always travel with some dogs PLUS living in Western Washington State and enjoying camping in the mountains and the beach, you're bound to be dragging half of outside in via mud, leaves, sand etc so the non-carpeted floor is much easier to clean up.

We also wanted one on the E450 and the Ford V-10. After looking around the used Four Winds Majestic that Cruise America sells was able to fit our needs and pocket book the best. So far so loving it

Ours is a 2006 (so really built on a 2005 E450 Chasis/power trian)and it does have 120K on it but we were able to get it with an extended powertrain warranty for under $20K .

Pretty nice Canadian brand of RV. Especially if you want a winter insulation package.
Triple E Site
They have a newer model with a Murphy bed that folds down over the dinette. Kind of a neat idea but not in your price range.
We bought ours in 2009 as a 6 year old RV and it was in your range. Chief advantage of our short one is getting into and out of boondocking sites--not developed campgrounds. Our gas mileage is not really higher than a 30 footer.
Most would recommend a fiberglass roof, although some have had good luck with TPO. That and the quality of the interior cabinets are about all that differentiates the brands you list. There are a few Chevy based models but most are the V-10 Fords. Some folks recommend against getting a cabover window, like this Winnie (I mean Itasca--same company).

Check out PPL for various models and approximate prices. Have fun searching!

Get it used or own it long enough, you'll want factory parts and information support. You can get both from Winnebago Industries (any of their brands) and also from Jayco. Both are well respected brands. Because of the support factor above and beyond good construction, popularity, and good remarks here, I'd put those two at the head of the class. There are limited production higher line units that would rank higer but they are few and generally pricey.
We rented a Gulfstream Yellowstone and really liked it. It had a lot of misc. loose parts but it was an Alaska rental in its last year in the fleet. That might be more of a testimony than a shortcoming...
On the order of Majestic, wife and I really like the Winnebago Chalet series. They are sold only to the rental market, so any you find used will have been rentals at some point in their lives.
