How do I reset the oil change monitor on my 05 GMC 2500 Dmax

Turn the key on(don't start) and hit the accelerator 3 times fairly rapidly...

And then wait for the "Change Oil" light to flash or what's indicated on the DIC display. Turn the key off too soon and it won't complete the reset.

Do you have the steering wheel controls? Use and hold the return arrow button, till reset flashes on DIC

On my 05, after several times of tramping the accelerator pedal 3 times to no avail, I pulled out the floor mat and it worked perfectly. So keep this in mind. Gary

On my '01, you have to hit the accelerator 5 times. Manual said 3, dealer showed me it was 5. Turn key on, 5 times, wait a couple of seconds for it to flash. Turn off. Mine is an 8.1L though, don't know if it makes a difference. And I agree on the mat problem, especially if they are aftermarket and thicker.
