Hanging out at the FW for the weekend. We took it to a KOA about an hour from our house and not far from where we both work. DH has to work today but it is my regular day off. I have spent the day doing nothing. Ok, I did wash the breakfast dishes, make the bed and walk the dogs. But that is it. It has been wonderful. Now, I know I could do nothing at home, but for some reason it is so much better at the trailer. The simplicity is what I love.

There's nothing like a "Staycation" close to home.

We go for 4 days to a beach campsite about 2 hours from home and it feels like we've been away for two weeks. It's so relaxing.

It IS nice to get away. It's not so much the distance either, it's about doing something different, that breaks the routine or the hum-drum of life. And the ability to "escape" and let the mind and body recover from all the "stress" we put it through every day.

I am glad you have a restful day! I hope you have many more.

This is one of our favorite campsites! No one says you have to travel far to escape to another world! The answer to where is this located is located is at the bottom of the last photo:

Answer: Our own back yard!

Although I only have a small class B, I truly enjoy driving to different parts of my properties and just hanging out.

I especially enjoy it during the winter when I am in my warm little cocoon.

I have often wondered about why this is so. It seems to be just getting away, even close to home works its magic. It has to be more than just our love of RVing and in campgrounds. Even in retirement, it is MUCH more relaxing out in the RV than at home.

Here's my theory, for what its worth! While at home, you/me always seems like I should be "doing" something productive around the house. You/I get a real guilt trip when I haven't done at least one or two maintainace jobs around the house. Out on the RV, no worries about that guilt setting in!!

Well, enough of my pop psychology!!

I absolutely hear ya.

I am going tomorrow for my next trip. I can't wait!

PS - for some reason I don't even mind making the bed or doing dishes when at the CG. LOL For some reason mundane tasks seem to be more fun. Keeping the TT looking nice is more of a game to me than a chore. LOL

Oh the weirdness of RV'ers. We are in a class all or own. A group of people who find magic lying back in a chair under their awning, no need for magic tricks or fireworks, just being one with ourselves and our rig.

I too love the simplicity of not having anything that HAS to be done and everything that I need is in my little home on wheels! I like the change of pace and scenery too.

Howdy!

This is one of the reason we became fulltimers.
