Good question. Although engine size is comparable, I don't think a Class A qualifies as a semi truck. At minimum I would say to go with the 55 for fuel mileage.

In California.
A motorhome can travel at 65 mph, same as a passenger car, unless otherwise posted. If towing, max speed is 55 mph, unless a lower speed is posted. If someone knows otherwise, please post a correction.

In Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana MH's and RV's towing have to do the 55 if it is posted. I thought I read somewhere they are trying to change this.

In some states the sign just say trucks and you have to be a mind reader to know that that means us too. Don't ask me how I know that.

Most states the sign clearly states campers, and towing on it along with trucks.

There is no difference for cars or semis or rvs in WI. They are all the same speed limit.

I would drive my car at 65 and my camper at 55 mainly for fuel economy.

It varies from state to state, Washington laws say any vehicle over 10,000 pounds is limited to 60 MPH. plus any vehicle in combination is limited to 60MPH

If the limit posted is lower than 60 All vehicles are to obey the posted limit.

Combination = any thing towing. you could have a smart car towing a wheel barrel they are limited to 60 MPH

Il used to be a back ward state on speed. Now you can run 65 no more of that 55 stuff. Just in CA where I am now. Have to travel 55 with the trucks.

Can you stop in the same distance as a car? If the answer is no, then follow the truck rules for safety.
