Just started learning how to manage/get the computerized stuff under control on the 2012 F 250. This is just a plane ole XLT.

Maybe if I spend an hour or two in there playing with the info, setup, and reset buttons I will feel a little more at ease They do have it rigged so it is relatively easy to crank it up and get it off the lot. I haven't even started wrestling with how to set up the trailer brakes yet.

Hope I don't have to hire a local wizz kidd.

For your trailer brake controller you should set aside a block of time to work on it. Maybe about 5 seconds should be enough in most cases. Plug in the trailer, set the controller right in the center (about a gain of 5) and go for a ride and bump it up or down as needed.
Good luck / Skip

Trailer brakes on my 2012 F350DRW took all of 10 seconds to adjust. Rest of stuff is pretty easy and is explained in the manual. After you have have used the features of your new truck you'll wonder why you never had them before. Didn't get the built in GPS, etc since I already had two units. Sirrus expires this week and I will not renew. With 11500 miles I am a happy camper with my new truck. Travel safe

Since I'm the last human on earth w/o a cell phone, SYNC is a useless feature to me.
But - Ford could do so much more with the info display especially for towing with the EB. Engine oil & water temp, boost or vacuum readings, intake air temp, EGT, ect.
And I wish they had a "gallons to empty" readout. Now I fill the tank and reset one of the trip odometers to keep track of the gas.

Mine shows engine and tranny oil temp. It also tells me miles to empty, how many gallons used, engine hours it took use those gallons and the MPG for that tank.

My guess is that's a possible difference between XLT and Lariat.

I love that SYNC feature. Once you've linked your cell phone, you never have to give it another thought. The sound system is outstanding, both for you and for the person on the other end of the call. And no issues with getting pulled over for having a phone up to your cheek while driving. And I really think it is safer/less distracting; just like talking with someone sitting beside you.

Mine came with 6 months of Sirius, which I enjoyed. Never expected to want to continue it, and I did let it run out. Then I got an offer for an annual renewal that I decided was reasonable, almost half what the previous mailings stated, so I let my kids give it to me for a Birthday gift.

Did I mention that I love Sync?

When we took delivery of our 2013 Edge, we had a hour long 'class' where dealer tech guy walked us thru the MFT, Sync, and many features of the vehicle.

I bet you could find similar instruction @ your dealer.

After the dealership experience, my wife and I have spent another half hour or so, not driving time and we're very comfortable with the system now.

I find myself saying, "I wonder if it will do this" and then I hit the voice button and shazam, yep, it does that.
