So I got my Propride hitch on Thursday. Sean was really helpful - he helped me after hours and today. I sent pics and questions and he replied quickly. Amazing customer service.

Since I'm all thumbs it took me two days to install it. Keep in mind that at the beginning of the year I didn't even know how to disconnect a battery. I'm scratched and hurt all over but it should pay off.

Anyway, did a test drive and it felt amazing. I will post after my next camping trip which should be next week.

Since I weighed my rig (with the Reese dual cam) I have removed a lot of stuff from the trailer and car. I think I should be still around 6600 wet even after adding the Propride.

Is there really a "bend" between the upper and lower portions of the lift jack?

Or is it just an optical illusion?

Ron,
Yes, could well be a bend there. The jacks are different than those on the Hensley hitch. The PP jacks mount above the trailer A frame with a hook on the side that a lift arm (don't know the proper name for it) attaches to. You can barely see the hook in the picture. This lift arm then attaches to the WD bars and it pivots on that hook as the WD bars move back and forth.

The spring bar link - a metal piece with wholes that goes on the weight distribution jacks - is not going straight down thus the illusion of bending.

Think of it as the chains of my other hitch that were also not straight down.

ETA: Also, what Barney said.

yep, after installing mine, the spring bar's didn't hang stright up and down either, so I readjusted the jack a little forward, so now they hang stright. mike

Back from my first trip! I could finally drive at 65mph without wondering where the car wanted to go. Now I just have to dial it in and get the most of this hitch.

No sway going there though I had some porposing/bouncing which was caused by not having the WD jacks tighten enough.

On the way back I fixed that but I had some sway (not much, but when I was alone on the road). When I stopped in a parking lot I was shocked by how much my tongue was up. It was leveled in the one I had tried it out. I stopped in a few other places and confirmed it was up. They varied by how much higher the tongue was but it was always up.

When I got home I moved the stinger one hole lower and I may have to flip the stinger and move one more.

How hard is it to find a leveled place nowadays?

By the way, here is an 1 hour movie I took of the hitch for the first trip so you can see how it pivots.
