In my home area, close to Houston, as well as in most of my travels I am used to manually finding satelites 110 and 119 with my Accutrac 22 digital meter to get my channels. However in nw Wyoming the locals come in on 129 so I have to get 3 now. I have an old Dish 500 system and know that 129 would lie slightly to the right (when standing behind the dish)of 119. Would I also have to change the elevation setting to get 129?

Yes 129 will be a bit lower also. (2.5º)
you will have to give up sat110 to get 129 &119
Dish 500 only receives 2 satelites at once
just set it up same but lower the elv 2.5º and rotate west 10 º
Nothing too it !

The skew adjustment on the dish takes care of this problem.

You are correct-if you can find a setting for the 500 for 119 &129
The only setting I see is for 110 & 119

Sounds like you have a 1000.4 dish. Go to Dishpointer.com and enter you rlocation and dish you are using. It will give the azimuth. elevation and skew settings to set up your dish. If the window to hte sky is big enough I have no problem finding all three.

I'm confused. I have a Dish 500 system with a round dish. The coordinates where I am staying are 43.7047,-109.9700. It tells me on Dishpointer that the El. is 36.1 degrees, AZ(true)153.6 degrees, Az (Mg) 141.8 degrees and the LNB skew is (?)-18.8 degrees with a half circle arrow pointing to the left. What do I set the el., az., and skew of my dish on kand how is the above data interpreted??

The procedure is the same. Exactly.. You enter your current location's ZIPcode in the receiver, then jot down the recommendations, then go out and pre-set and fine tune the dish.

NOTE: you only need to find two, if you find 110 and 119, 129 will just naturally be there (Unless it's blocked by a building, tree or some other thing like your neighbor's RV) I mean where else can it be, the laws of mathmatics apply, Find two and the third will be there. always. Only one exception.

If you find the two with the wrong LNB's.

And there the rule was always the same....

If you find 110, 119 and a sat with a smaller number (say 101) look more west.

In this case if you are looking too far west you may find 119 and 129, but not 110.

But all you need do is find 2.

If you have a Dish 500, I don't see how you'll pick up three satellites. You may be able to get 119 and 129 with it if you hit 119 first the try adjusting the skew to pick up 129. I don't know where you'd find the aiming information to do that.

Oh to find 119/129 (I do recommend going to the DIsh 1000 antenna) you can use a program, I would use something like the one at datastormusers.com that is used to point the Hughes net antennas (I have it here but not on this computer) Ignore the graphics, feed it (You may have to manually enter) 124 as your target satellite, it will give you all the right angles.
