Warranty is done on my Jayco and now considering an extended plan. Has anyone had experienced with Good Sam's service? Also the DW loves AAA but I think I need something more for roadside assistance, would anyone recommend Good Sam or another company? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ford does provide some roadside assistance for the first 5 yrs/50,000 miles of ownership.

We have Good Sam Roadside and Good Sam Extended Service on our 2006 Fourwinds Siesta. Have used them both over the past three years and are so greatful we had them both. Saved us a ton and to us worth the $129 per year and the $70 per month for the Extended Service. I'm not a gambler per say and I know RV'ers that have never had warranty issues. Good luck.

I have Coach-Net. We had AAA for 25 plus years (added the RV Plus when it became available).

We never have had to use roadside service while on a vacation / trip in any RV. and only used AAA roadside service maybe half a dozen times (only 2 times towing).

The reason for switching was the AAA cost went way up when I wanted to add a 3rd household driver to the plan. Coach-Net was a lot less for us per year than AAA, In addition Coach-Net has better towing coverage for RV's (AAA RV coverage was a concern for me over the last few years).

NOTE: to my knowledge NONE of the roadside service plans offered any company have their OWN service trucks. They all use the same service trucks (tow service). Service times varies from city to city (areas of the country) depending on where you are and the time of day (rush hour traffic etc.).

As a side benefit, Coach-Net asked about RV clubs I checked WIT (winnebago - Itasca Travelers) and received a free year in the club.

Compare cost and coverage, do a search on the forum and make your choice based on the best fit for you and your family.

xtraride is another big provider of after market warranties in the RV world. We have them, but have yet to file a claim. We use CoachNet for roadside service.

I never have and never will have an extended "warranty". In 50 years of RVing, once I might have broken even on the cost of one. We've had Good Sam road service for several years. Used it three times for towing, twice for tire repair, and once for lockout service. Satisfactory every time.

Hi all,

We have "AAA Plus", their middle tier service which includes RV's. We have never used them for the RV, but many times for the cars (especially when the kiddo was a "new" driver), and have always had excellent service. They do have mileage limits for towing - I don't think Good Sam does.

We do make extensive use of our benefits for discounts, paper maps (I carry a set that includes all 48 lower states and part of Canada everywhere we go) that are updated regularly, smaller road atlases, tour and camp books and, they just partnered with Woodall's and now provide the Woodall's directory broken down into Regional guides at no additional cost.

I've thought about checking into Good Sam's service, as we are also GS club members, but we have been with AAA for 30 years and have been happy.

I like Good Sam, there were there when we needed them. In town though I wish they'd cover a tow back to a residence.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I had to use them two weeks ago, Good Sam ERS/Platinum. Tow truck driver pulled up to my grand-am asked where he was taking it. I directed him to my house, no problems at all.

In case I got a pass and they should not have towed me home please keep it between us.

I had CoachNet. I made one trouble call to them. 4 additional calls and 12 hours later, somebody showed up. But in their defense, I was in a pretty remote location. American Heritage RV park in Williamsburg, Va. And there'a hardly any vacationing RVers in Williamsburg. Yeah, right.
I now have Good Sam. I haven't needed them yet, but if I get bad service, I know where to find the boss.

Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
