It is an interesting concept, to be able to separate the car from the motorhome.
It is even more interesting that the writer of the article claims to be a "former full time RVer", but apparently doesn't know the difference between a "motorhome" and a "mobile home".
Maybe its another one of those "regional things"...

It looks absolutely horrendous (and like a lego toy). I will stick wtih pulling a trailer. Seems a very elaborate way of just doing what TT's and TV's have been doing for ages.
And what can you fit in the back of it?? A microwave and a chair? LOL
Cool idea, ends up with the worst of a towable/TV combo and a MH combo. One stupid thing can cause a misalignment which renders both parts impossible to join together. If my truck's tow hitch gets hit, worst case, I get another receiver welded or bolted on. With the setup above, it takes a highly precise mating process that isn't just physical, but electronic as well.
I'll pass. We need engineering prowess in so many areas, so trying to replace the typical TT/5W with a pseudo MH is low on the list.
Personally, I just want to see better batteries. That in itself would revolutionize RV-ing as we know it.
Many years ago, there was something like that with a VW Bug that towed a small 5-er with the hitch in the middle of the Bug's roof. A video was posted that showed the bug could actually do a 180 degree turn and push the 5-er into a campsite.

I'm still trying to figure out how it turns when all mated up... 6 wheels spaced evenly across vehicle.
