IMO, the sad part is people believing Allmendinger's story.

But, it's OK to be a speed freak WITHOUT the drugs. Yeah, like the Busch brothers......

No - the drugs prescribed for ADHD are actually "speed" - but in those who truly need it - it slows them down and helps them focus. However - it sounds like Almendinger took it for its "speed" qualities....

I just have to shake my head.
Is there a more select group than a full time Sprint Cup driver on one of the premier teams?
Good grief.

There is no stricter drug policy that Nascar's. Let's see, a friend offers you a pill for some energy...Sure, I'll take it, thanks....

Talk about blowing an opportunity of a life time.

I just can't believe that this type of event is a simple/casual stupid mistake. There's just way too much to lose.
I believe it's driven by addiction. It's a unbelievable powerful force.
I hope AJ can shake it, and go drive Indy cars.

Okay, that bit could just mean he was REALLY stupid. I don't race NASCAR and I am NOT drug tested, yet I would still NEVER take "a pill" from "a friend of a friend".

Now maybe I'm a bit biased as I knew a guy in college who would easily count as a "friend of a friend" and he dealt in all sorts of illegal drugs.

How do you think the withdrawal of Dodge will affect Nascar? They have been involved for a long time, I guess it's the present financial
conditions that are driving decisions, their lack of a successful developement program etc. It's not a good sign, along with poor attendance at the tracks. Has anyone else noticed a good number of starters are sidelined early on in recent races?
