So during vacation in South Carolina, we decided to trade our 2005 Prowler 32DBHS (kids are grown )on a 2012 Keystone Avalanche 345TG. Always had Fleetwoods and was weiry of going to Keystone i.e. Thor. Bought the fifth wheel and headed back the 2000 miles to home . Issues started halfway home.
We now have a list of about 25 items from squeaking floors, electrical issues with batteries not charging while docked or connected to truck, wheel bearings squeaking, rear panel fibreglass cracked 6", front nose fiberglass cracked, kitchen sinks so corroded they are pitted, inverter making strange noises, one slideout wearing carpet on one side, but the worst was filling it with potable water. It's always air-locked and takes forever. After finally fillig it this past weekend, noticed water running from the bottom of the front bulkhead! Somewhere, a leak let some water get into the floor membrane under the bulkhead! It was full! I didn't know what to do so I punctured the membrane. Water poured out for an hour and still dripping. Very upset. Mold will surely grow.
Called Keystone as we are too far from the dealer being in Newfoundland. The local Keystone dealer will not touch it because we bought it in the U.S. Told Keystone that. They said they will try to find someone to work on it here or take it back. I don't even know what they mean by taking it back. To where? For how long?
If anyone has suggestions, it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chris, Sandra, Tyler (University now ), Jessica , Kristen , Luke the Shih-Tzu , & Obi, the Yorky .

Did your dealer do a thorough PDI before you got there?
Did you go through a walk through?
Sounds like an isolated incidet so far, as I have seen a hundred Avalanche's go out the door, and very few come back with major issues.

Let Keystone deal with it. They will find you a dealer or "take it back" which usually means back to the factory.
I agree with was a PDI done at your selling dealer. How could those problems be overlooked on a PDI???? Those are obvious iuues...

???How can you find squeaks in floors where you didn't happen to walk during the one hour PDI?
???How do you find hairline cracks in fibreglass on a busy dealer lot during a PDI that are 8' up?
???How do you know you can't fill with potable water when dealer says it's done and you hook up to park water until half way home?
???How do you know during filling with potable water a leak will show itself 2-3 hours later?
???How do you know your batteries are not charging?
???How do you know the slideout will eventually wear the carpet unevenly after a few uses?
???How do you know turning on one particular light while a music CD is playing; the stereo will reset itself? Every time!
???How do you know your faucet will not stop leaking?
???How do you know your shower enclosure will not stop leaking from a shower?
etc
etc
etc
Anyone have some pertinent advice?
I miss Fleetwood towables!!!!!

It don't matter what or which RV you buy, there is gonna be problems like these. What makes a good purchase is how the company steps up and fixes or makes it right. Fleetwood had their share of problems too. Keystone for the most has been very good to deal with. Don't be bad mouthing them unless they do not make it right, you must give them a chance. It's not their fault you bought it out of country. Might have been something to check before you bought is who will do the warranty work.

Because we bought in the U.S., the local dealer will not touch it. I went there yesterday as Keystone told me everything was arranged and they would take the coach this week. Spent 40 minutes waiting for a service advisor to see me but he wouldn't come out despite the receptionists best efforts.
I thanked the receptionist and told her the service advisor can get stuffed and I will take it up with Keystone. Emailed what happened to Keystone but no reply. I can't believe a Keystone dealer can refuse to honour a warranty and Keystone lets them do it. Just because we bought somewhere that doesn't charge the full MSRP like Islander RV does!
We had a local Fleetwood dealer one hour away from me and they would actually pick our trailer up if it needed anything and bring it back! Guess we are just spoiled.

I don't think you have a problem with Keystone but more a problem with a really bad dealer. Most dealers have no problem doing warranty work no matter where you buy you trailer. It's not like it's coming out of their pockets, they still get imcome from the work from Keystone. So if seems you got a really bad dealer. And maybe too it's not the dealer just the service mgr. I think I would have walked into the front ofc and demanded to talk to the owner/mgr of the dealership. Sometimes dealers have service mgrs that think they are large and in charge, but no they get paid just like everybody else. It sounds like Keystone talked to someone there to make arrangements but the service mgr didn't get the memo.
