I was thinking about 2000-2500 watts, and a 4 battery stackIF the house batteries ran down too quick.
We don't dry camp so it's just for daily drive time when we choose not to run the generator.
this is still very much in the planning stages.
Thanks all

Some refers, like Samsung, run perfectly well on MSW inverters. And it doesn't affect the warranty.

These inverters may sound really big, but they really are just to handle the startup current. The run power is typically around 100w or so.
I've tested a small fridge on a 600W inverter and it ran fine - but you couldn't use it for anything else (like running a coffeemaker)
If you're only using it while driving, most of the power will come from the alternator.

We have a 2000 watt inverter with 100 amp converter/ 6 house batteries. Our frig is a 2door kitchen aid with bottom freezer.

Ok I thought of another question.
Is it better to put the inverter close to the batteries and run the 120V to the fridge? Or longer battery cables and plug directly into the inverter?

Definitely better to put it close to the batteries.

Rich D. wrote: Mine came with a dedicated 1500 watt PSW which connects to the same battery banks as the other inverter(s). Reason it is slightly larger is that it powers the electronics as well as the 22 cu.ft. KitchenAid SxS refrigerator. PSW inverters will also reduce the power consumption for the refrigerator as the compressors do not like MSW power and current draws on MSW are higher.
PENMAN, no the OP is not kidding. New highly efficient refrigerators are easily run from the coach barrery bank for considerable lengths of time without generator or shore power.
Thanks for the info. I was trying to imagine how many batteries would be needed to run a house frig for any length of time. Now I have a better idea.

we have been running an 8cuft apt size residential fridge on a 1200w Tripp-lite MSW inverter for 21 months, this is 24/7, nothing has been off unless i was working with the battery cables,
