Planning a trip in our fiver to the northern coast of California starting around Bodega Bay ending at Crescent City. We'll come up I-5 from Bakersfield. Would appreciate any road/route information, RV campgrounds, or anything about must-see sites.

Thanks,
Steve & Sherri

I enjoy traveling up hwy 101 and staying at the State Parks. They are primarily dry camping parks and have some length restrictions. I make reservations. For me, the California north coast is best for enjoying the redwoods and walking the beaches and shoreline. The State Parks are located near these amenities.

Is Highway 1 from Bodega Bay to Crescent City okay to pull a 30' fifth wheel?

Hwy 1 heads inland and ends at hwy 101 in Leggett. Portions of Hwy 1 are not advised, or even allowed for the biggest of rigs. Hwy 101 is a fine highway for your journey.
