Just traded the '07 F350 for a '12 F350. Had a Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit on it. After 5 years still looked very good and worked good. Was only just beginning to see some chips in the powder coating.
Now I need a cover for the '12. The '12 is a King Ranch so the bed rail protectors are tan instead of black like the '07 Lariat. Not sure how a black cover will look with the tan rails. But I don't see any color options for any retractable covers except black and, on a very few, silver. Not interested in silver.
Need a retractable cover to retract back over my 5th wheel hitch, and to cover it and lock in place when not towing.
So. Does any one have a black tonneau cover on their King Ranch with tan rails? And how does it look?

I don't have it but a friend of my neighbors has your truck with the Black Tonneau Cover and tan rails and IMO it looks great. I see him over there from time too time. My neighbor also works at Ford here in Kansas City. I personally think its a very sharp truck but again thats JMHO.

Come on. I have seen one on a red Ford. I had to tell the guy how good it looked. The web sites show then on white, red, blue and silver trucks. Actually, anything but black. I can't think of any reason why tan would be an exception.

Just to be clear. The truck is white and has tan plastic rail covers, typical of the King Ranch. Generally the plastic rail covers are black.

I have the Pace Edwards cover on my King Ranch that has the tan rails and I think it looks great..

Just a heads up,, when you get your hitch adjusted for a level 5er your release handle may be too high for the cover to close, if so tilt the hitch up that will put your handle down, cut two wood wedges and insert them to hold the hitch tilted up.. Had to do that on mine,, just remember to remove before hooking up the 5er!!! T-10

Thanks T-10 for the info from someone who has already been there. I think I will go with the Pace Edwards again.
As far as the handle, I have the hitch in the lowest holes and it looks like the handle will clear unless it tilts to the passenger side. But I was thinking I would just put a bungee around the handle to the bottom of the hitch to hold the handle down. That way I would not forget something I could not see.

I cannot find a comment on what kind of hitch you have. When my handle hit the cover I just sawed off a couple of inches of the handle. That might not be an option for you, but I toss it out for consideration.

I have the Ford factory 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch prep and 5th wheel hitch (a Reese hitch). I have it at the lowest setting. Sitting level the handle is just below the rails. If it tilts to the passenger side it would be just above the rails. So if I keep it level or tilted to the drivers side it will be fine.

If you're worried about the tan and black not matching, change the bed rail covers to black. easy to do. One of mine started to warp some so dealer took a hot air gun to the back side and straighten it until my new ones came in. new ones still in a box in the basement. Can't even tell anything was done.
